Hands-on with BPMN

Get Clear About Your Key Business Processes with BPMN

A business process refers to a series of activities and events consistently and repeatedly carried out to provide value to a customer, whether internal or external. To make these processes more efficient, businesses should streamline, automate, and delegate tasks. However, before doing so, it’s important to have a clear and shared understanding of these processes.

That’s where Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) comes in. BPMN is an industry-standard visual flowcharting language that helps businesses develop a better understanding of their processes, making it easier to optimize them for maximum effectiveness. A good BPMN process model will clarify your thinking, enhance shared understanding across your team, and serve as a foundation for process improvements, including automation.

Agenda

In this hands-on, highly interactive workshop, you’ll be up and running with BPMN within two hours. We will explore the following in a small group setting:

  • Processes and BPMN: You’ll learn what BPMN is and the conditions under which it’s most useful.
  • Basic BPMN Grammar: BPMN is a visual language with a vocabulary, notation, syntax, and semantics. It’s powerful and expressive, but you can start with just a few elements.
  • Create a Sales Order Fulfillment Process: This is the heart of the workshop. You’ll use Camunda Modeler software (free) to create a BPMN process map.
