To name a process, nominalize the verb that describes the main action of the process:

Noun + Nominalized verb

Use title case for process names.

For example, “Invoice client” (the main action) becomes “Client Invoicing” (the process name or label). Here are more examples:

  • Main action: Onboard customer
    Process name: Customer Onboarding
  • Main action: Process order
    Process name: Order Processing
  • Main action: Resolve complaint
    Process Name: Complaint Resolution

Common endings for nominalized verbs include

  • -tion (create → creation),
  • -ing (write → writing), and
  • -ment (develop → development).
