To name a process, nominalize the verb that describes the main action of the process:
Noun + Nominalized verb
Use title case for process names.
For example, “Invoice client” (the main action) becomes “Client Invoicing” (the process name or label). Here are more examples:
- Main action: Onboard customer
Process name: Customer Onboarding - Main action: Process order
Process name: Order Processing - Main action: Resolve complaint
Process Name: Complaint Resolution
Common endings for nominalized verbs include
- -tion (create → creation),
- -ing (write → writing), and
- -ment (develop → development).
